Ingredients

- 65 g butter
- 1 cup water
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup plain flour
- 3 eggs
- 50 g cheddar cheese, cubed
- 25 g butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons curry powder
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 300 ml milk
- 1 (250 g) can salmon or 1 (250 g) can tuna
- salt and pepper, for seasoning
- grated cheddar cheese
Recipe
- 1 place large spoonfuls of pastry around the edge of a greased oven proof dish.
- 2 fill centre with filling and sprinkle with grated cheese.
- 3 bake in hot oven (230°c) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- 4 to make filling, melt butter in saucepan and saute onion until softened.
- 5 add curry powder and cook gently for a couple of minutes, stirring so it doesn't burn.
- 6 remove from heat and stir in flour, then blend in milk.
- 7 return to heat and stir until thickened.
- 8 empty in the contents of the can of salmon and break up into sauce.
- 9 to make pastry heat water, butter and salt until butter has melted.
- 10 dump in flour all at once and beat until mixture comes together in a ball.
- 11 cool slightly then beat in eggs one at a time.
- 12 finally mix in cheese that has been cut into small cubes.
