My Sweet Potato Pie 1981

Ingredients
- Servings: 8
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups mashed cooked sweet potatoes (no seasoning)
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk (carnation)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Recipe
- 1 pre heat oven to 425 degrees.
- 2 line a glass pie pan with your favourite pastry.
- 3 mix all ingredients in a large bowl, until well combined.
- 4 pour into unbaked crust and bake 15 minutes.
- 5 lower oven temp.
- 6 to 350 degrees f.
- 7 and bake another 25 minutes.
- 8 after the 25 minutes.
- 9 combine all the topping mixture and spread over the hot pie.
- 10 return to oven and bake at 350 degrees f.
- 11 for another 15 minutes.
- 12 total baking time should be 50 minutes.
- 13 test with a knife to make sure pie is firm and cooked thru.
