Sausage Bites

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 box puff pastry
  • 18 uncooked link sausage
  • 1 egg
  • splash milk

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400.
  • 2 thaw puff pastry on counter in box 15 to 20 minutes.
  • 3 cook sausage in skillet until about half way done.
  • 4 drain on paper towels.
  • 5 cut puff pastry into thirds lengthwise following seams.
  • 6 roll out slightly lengthwise.
  • 7 place uncooked sausage links end to end on the long side of the strips near edge.
  • 8 with pastry brush, brush a little water on the opposite edge from the sausage.
  • 9 roll sausage in dough until the seam is down and seal.
  • 10 cut sausage into 1 ½ inch pieces.
  • 11 with scissors, snip a little"x" on each piece (this allows steam to escape and keep the pastry from getting soggy).
  • 12 beat egg with a little milk a d brush this over pieces.
  • 13 bake at 400.
  • 14 check after 10 minutes without opening the oven.
  • 15 cook until lightly brown.
  • 16 another 5 minutes or so.
