Sausage Rolls

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 500 g ground lamb
  • 1/2 onion, chopped finely
  • 1 small zucchini, grated
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 6 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seed (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 200°c
  • 2 in a large bowl combine mince meat, vegetables, garlic, tomato sauce, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, pepper, parsley.
  • 3 cut each puff pastry in half. place a log of sausage mixture in centre of each half, brush edges with egg mixture and roll to seal.
  • 4 brush sausage roll with egg wash and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  • 5 cut each log into 4 pieces.
  • 6 transfer to baking sheet.
  • 7 bake for 25 min or until golden brown.
