Tostada Bake

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 1/2 cups biscuit mix
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 lb extra lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with mild green chilies
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 (2 1/4 ounce) can sliced black olives
  • 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
  • 1/2 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 375°f.
  • 2 grease 15 x 10 x 1" pan. mix biscuit mix, cornmeal, baking powder, vegetable oil, and water thoroughly. roll dough in pan with pastry roller. bake 10 minute.
  • 3 brown ground beef and onion in skillet. drain any fat. stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, olives, and refried beans. spread beef mixture on top of crust. sprinkle with cheeses.
  • 4 bake 15 min or until hot.
  • 5 serve with sour cream if desired.
