Sausage Bakewells

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces sausages
  • 1 lb puff pastry
  • 200 g applesauce
  • 1 apple
  • 1 onion
  • 1 1/2 ounces cheese
  • 1 1/2 ounces breadcrumbs

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400f/mark 6. squeeze sausages at centre, twist, and cut to make each one into two.
  • 2 roll out pastry and cut into circles to fit muffin tin. push pastry into a pregreased tin. add to the base 1/2tsp apple sauce, top with a small sausage and slice of apple and onion.
  • 3 mix together cheese and breadcrumbs and sprinkle a spoonful on top of each tart. bake for about 25 minutes, until pastry is puffed and golden and sausage browned and cooked. serve as a snack with vegetables or mixed salad, or cold in a lunchbox or picnic.
