Food Processor Pie Crust

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 5 tablespoons ice water

Recipe

  • 1 mix flour and salt in food processor.
  • 2 add shortening and mix until shortening is cut into pea size pieces.
  • 3 while pulsing the food processor, drizzle in a tablespoon of water at a time, just until the dough forms a ball.
  • 4 the amount of water will vary each time.
  • 5 place dough onto flour covered surface.
  • 6 cut dough in half and roll into 2 circles.
  • 7 place in pie plate and fill with your favorite pie filling and bake as directed.
  • 8 for a pre-baked pie shell- prick the bottom with a fork and bake for 9-12 minutes at 450.
  • 9 this makes one double crust pie or 2 pie shells.
