Shoo Fly Pie
Ingredients
- 1 cup dark molasses
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 9" pastry shell
Recipe
- 1 dissolve soda in hot water; add molasses and egg.
- 2 combine sugar and flour and rub in the shortening to make crumbs.
- 3 pour one-third of the liquid into an unbaked pie crust. add one-third of the crumb mixture. continue alternate layers, putting crumbs on top.
- 4 bake at 375: for approximately 35 minutes.
