Perfectly Workable Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup plus 2 tbs shortening
  • 1/3 cup water

Recipe

  • 1 cut the shortening into 2 cups of flour and salt, until you have small pieces or beads.
  • 2 make a paste from the remaining 1/4 cup of flour and 1/3 cup of water by mixing it with a fork in a separate larger cup.
  • 3 work this paste into the dough, until thoroughly mixed. sprinkle with flour and roll out on pastry board.
