Pastechi Pastry Dough

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 9 cups flour
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk (more if needed)
  • hot oil

Recipe

  • 1 mix dry ingredients with butter.
  • 2 slowly add liquid.
  • 3 knead to a smooth ball and let stand 20 minutes.
  • 4 roll out thinly on lightly floured board.
  • 5 cut into rounds using biscuit cutter or glass.
  • 6 place 1 generous tsp of pastechi filling (recipe posted separately) onto rounds.
  • 7 fold rounds in half; seal and crimp edges.
  • 8 fry in oil until golden brown.
  • 9 drain on paper towels.
  • 10 serve warm and with ketchup, if desired.
  • 11 ***recipemay be halved.
