Lime Pie

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • baked pastry shells
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon finely shredded lime peel (, 2 limes)
  • 2/3 cup lime juice
  • whipped cream or whipped dessert topping (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 prepare baked pastry shell; set shell aside.
  • 2 for filling: in a large bowl, stir to-gether egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk.
  • 3 stir in lime peel.
  • 4 gradually stir in lime juice (mixture will thicken).
  • 5 pour into the baked pastry shell.
  • 6 bake in a 350 degrees oven for 30 minutes.
  • 7 remove from oven; cool completely.
  • 8 to serve, pipe or dollop the whipped cream or whipped topping over top of the pie, if you like.
  • 9 makes 10 servings.
