Pear Cranberry Pie With Oatmeal Streusel

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup oats
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 dash salt
- 2 tablespoons butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
- 3 cups anjou pears, cubed into 1/2-inch pieces (about 2 pears)
- 2 cups cranberries
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 to prepare streusel, combine first 5 ingredients in a medium bowl.
- 3 cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- 4 to prepare filling, combine pears, cranberries, 2/3 cup brown sugar, and cornstarch in a large bowl. toss well to combine.
- 5 spoon pear mixture into pastry shell; sprinkle streusel over pear mixture.
- 6 bake for 1 hour, or until bubbly and streusel is browned.
- 7 cool at least 1 hour on a wire rack.
