Easy Cinnamon Raisin-swirl Bread

Total Time: 2 hrs Preparation Time: 1 hr 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed (1 pound)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4-1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup raisins (can use more)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 -2 tablespoon whipping cream

Recipe

  • 1 on a lightly floured surface, roll thawed bread dough into a 10 x 12-inch rectangle.
  • 2 with a pastry brush, paint the dough with 1-1/2 tablespoons water.
  • 3 sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon evenly over the dough; top with raisins.
  • 4 roll up tightly jelly-roll fashion, beginning on the 12-inch side.
  • 5 seal all seams and ends.
  • 6 divide rolled up dough into two separtate pieces.
  • 7 twist the two pieces together to form one twisted loaf.
  • 8 place the loaf into greased 8x4-inch loaf pan.
  • 9 brush dough with melted butter.
  • 10 let the dough rise in a warm place until it doubles in size.
  • 11 bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • 12 remove from pan to cool.
  • 13 when the bread is cool, mix the glaze ingredients together, and drizzle over loaf.
  • 14 slice to serve.
