Mrs. K's Toll House Pecan Pie

Ingredients
- 1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry shells
- 1 1/2 cups dark karo syrup
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 400 degree f.
- 2 in a medium size bowl, mix karo syrup, sugar, butter, and eggs.
- 3 add salt and vanilla; set aside.
- 4 sprinkle dry pecans over the bottom of the pastry shell.
- 5 pour liquid mixture evenly over the top of the pecans.
- 6 bake at 400 degrees f for 10 minutes then at 375 degrees f for 30 minutes or until set (note the oven temperature change).
- 7 cool.
- 8 serve with whipped cream.
