Mrs. K's Toll House Pecan Pie

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry shells
  • 1 1/2 cups dark karo syrup
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400 degree f.
  • 2 in a medium size bowl, mix karo syrup, sugar, butter, and eggs.
  • 3 add salt and vanilla; set aside.
  • 4 sprinkle dry pecans over the bottom of the pastry shell.
  • 5 pour liquid mixture evenly over the top of the pecans.
  • 6 bake at 400 degrees f for 10 minutes then at 375 degrees f for 30 minutes or until set (note the oven temperature change).
  • 7 cool.
  • 8 serve with whipped cream.
